Above is the rainfall from 2012, the yearly average of rainfall and the percentage of average and the deficit we had this year. If anyone didn’t already know it was a dry year, this tells you. Many of the months had below average rainfall and snowfall. The lack of any snow last winter and then a dry summertime put a crimp on crops by harvest time. We did have some decent rains in the spring and again late in the summer but it wasn’t enough. Deficits over ten inches for the year have been common for the last six months or so. We’ll see what 2013 has in store.
