Numerous Thunderstorms have popped up in the heat of the afternoon. Some of these storms may produce hail up to 3/4 inch in diameter and wind gusts to 40mph. The strongest storms were along US Hwy 30 from near Belle Plaine to Boone, along US Hwy 63 from Ottumwa to Oskaloosa and another cell near Vinton. These storms are generally moving east at 30. Some heavy rain is possible in a short period of time with these storms.
