Today will be a day with sunshine and showers and thunderstorms depending on where you are in the state. The main activity this morning occurred in the northern and eastern parts of the state, with some rain falling there. The best chances of rain today will likely be in these same areas, with another round of showers and storms moving in later this afternoon into this evening. There is still a slight risk of severe weather for areas north of Interstate 80 and west of Interstate 35 (or North and West of Des Moines). Large hail and damaging winds will be the threats today with any storms that may become severe.
