Below is the 12Z GFDL model run of Hurricane Ike at 126 hours out

This model shows that the center of Ike will be over central Missouri. Another model, HWRF shows the center of Ike at 126 hours out in Illinois south of Chicago. In anycase, Ike will likely effect Iowa’s weather during the weekend, most likely on Sunday. This is only one model run and things can change. The NHC forecast track has Ike centered in Oklahoma Saturday afternoon. Later runs will determine where Ike and its moisture will go. At the same time a front will be moving through the state which may enhance the rainfall amounts from this system.
