ACTIVE PATTERN: One storm has departed the state, but dry conditions won’t last long, as another one will be moving through late tonight into Saturday morning with another chance of showers. Amounts will be light with no more than a quarter inch possible. A more significant storm system moves in late Sunday with rounds of showers and thunderstorms. Severe Weather may be possible Tuesday into Wednesday next week, although its too early to determine that at this time. There will be continued chances of precipitation beginning late Sunday and lasting through the remainder of next week (Friday).

COOL MID MONTH: A large trough over the eastern part of the country at mid-month will keep readings rather cool across the state. There could be a chance of a late season frost, especially in the cooler locations. This is been on the models for several days now, but it could change as we draw closer. it will be active once again toward the end of the forecast period as the eastern trough breaks down.

FLOODING: The Mississippi River remains high with the river below flood stage mainly north of Dubuque and near it from there to the south. Any heavy rainfall from these storms may easily bring the river back up above flood stage again.
