MUST BE NOVEMBER IN IOWA: Cold air will come rushing in today with temperatures dropping from early day highs in the 30s north and 40s south. There is a chance of seeing some rain and or snow with this system today but any accumulations should be under a half inch with many areas just seeing a dusting. Lows will take a tumble tonight into the single digits far northwest and teens everywhere else. Highs Tuesday will be a few degrees either side of 30.
THE MODERATION GAME: Temperatures will quickly moderate at mid-week as the winds will switch around to the west and southwest. This will help boost readings back to near 50 by Thursday, but along with that another disturbance comes in that will spark off a few isolated showers at that time. Friday and Saturday look to be fairly dry with seasonal readings in the 40s to near 50 across the state with lows in the upper 20s to lower and middle 30s.
INTO THE WEATHER BALL: A system will move in Sunday that may bring a little bit of rain and possibly wintry mix as well. Monday through Wednesday (18th-20th) look to be dry and somewhat cool with readings in the 40s (some 30s possible on Tuesday with a few more clouds as a storm will skim the state to the northeast). Readings will moderate through the end of that week back to near 50. A significant storm on the 24th and 25th could bring rain and snow to the area. This could bring our first real widespread taste of winter statewide, but it is still more than two weeks out and things are likely going to change between now and then.
