MORE COOL: No warmups in the near term as a storm system will be departing the state today taking with it the chance of showers. This may linger into the early afternoon hours over the eastern counties otherwise skies will begin to clear from west to east with highs remaining in the 60s to lower 70s. Friday will see plenty of sunshine around but readings don’t really ramp upward a whole lot with upper 60s to mid 70s statewide.

ANOTHER SYSTEM: The next system looks to make a run at the state on Saturday into Sunday with another threat of some showers and thunderstorms at that time. It’s still too early to determine if any of these storms may reach severe limits but we’ll have to continue to monitor the situation to see if anything was to arise from it.

AND ANOTHER: More rain looks to move into the state Tuesday and Wednesday of next week as a ridge begins to take hold over the southern Plains. We’ll be on the northern periphery of this ridge with the chance of more showers and thunderstorms moving in from the west and northwest. As with the system this coming weekend, it’s too early to determine any potential severe weather risk at this time, but we’ll certainly keep watch on it. This pattern looks to break a little later on as we get a bit warmer and begin to dry out more but this too could change, we’ll just have to wait and see.
