WELCOME TO POLAR AIR: The new year has begun and cold air has made its appearance well known. Readings today will be in the teens to lower 20s across the state. This run does show that the cold weather may not last as long as once was forecast, although with the snow pack it may be more seasonal then warm. A few flurries or light snow showers are possible in the far northern counties here on Wednesday but this won’t amount to a whole lot. It looks to remain mainly dry outside of that through the upcoming weekend.

ROLLERCOASTER OF TEMPS: The latest GFS Model Run is showing some brief warm ups as we head further into the month of January but also some arctic plunges from the north as well. It’s starting to look more likely of a storm system around the 11-12th of January may bring some snow across the area, but it’s WAY too early to determine amounts or storm track at this time. We’ve seen it on several runs but on different days in different places. We’ll have to keep watching. Otherwise the up and down of temperatures will be the main story over the next two weeks outside that possible storm mentioned earlier.
