UPDATE: The National Weather Service in Omaha has extended the Winter Storm Watch to include Fremont, Pottawattamie, Shelby, Mills and Montgomery Counties.
The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued a Winter Storm Watch effective from 6pm Friday evening until 6pm Saturday evening for Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Ida, O Brien, Plymouth and Woodbury counties. The National Weather Service in Omaha has also issued a Winter Storm Watch for Harrison and Monona Counties also.
TIMING…RAIN MAY BRIEFLY MIX WITH SNOW FRIDAY AFTERNOON BEFORE QUICKLY CHANGING OVER TO ALL SNOW FRIDAY EVENING. SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO FALL THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING.
ACCUMULATIONS…SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF SIX TO EIGHT INCHES OF SNOW ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE WATCH AREA.
WIND AND VISIBILITY…STRONG NORTHEAST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WILL CREATE AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW AND REDUCE VISIBILITY ESPECIALLY IN OPEN AREAS.
