WINDY TODAY: That is an understatement with regards to the wind. Sustained winds of 25-40mph will be likely today as the storm system departs the state early this morning. Wind gusts will be the main factor with 50mph plus gusts through at least the evening hours. A High Wind Warning is in effect for a large section of the state through the evening hours. Temperatures as a result will have hit their highs likely after midnight across the eastern counties with daytime readings in the 20s to lower 30s across the state. The wind continues into Monday with 20-30mph winds with a few higher gusts.

SOME SNOW: There will be some snow chances in the forecast, but they are more than a week away. We’ll have another dry week in store following this brief cold snap. Temperatures do warm back above seasonal norms by mid-week before another system comes next weekend that may bring some snow to the state. Further out, another storm in about ten days could bring snow and wind, similar to this wind event, but with more moisture. We’ll be on the look out.
