It is yet another windy day across the state this afternoon. Gusty west winds to near 50mph have been reported. Estherville at 2pm had a wind gust to 47. Sustained winds have been between 20-35mph all afternoon for most of the state. There is a wind advisory until this evening for the northern half of the state, mainly north of a Onawa to Ames to Waterloo to Dubuque line.
Rain returns back into the forecast late tomorrow as another storm system moves in from the west. Unlike the last storm, the state will be on the colder side and will receive only some light to moderate rain from this storm. Amounts from this storm will range between 0.5-1.25 inches of rain. Also with being on the colder side, temperatures will also be colder on Friday, with readings in the 50s. The rain will end by midday Friday and the weekend will be pleasant but cold with highs in the upper 50s to the mid-upper 60s. Lows will be frosty with 30s possible. Some frost advisories may be issued Saturday and then again Sunday morning. The weather pattern will become again active next week with daily chances of showers and thunderstorms through at least mid-week.
