The Central Region Headquarters of the National Weather Service in Kansas City issued new criteria for Severe Thunderstorm Warnings. The criteria for severe hail has been raised from 3/4 inch in diameter to 1 inch for all NWS Offices in the Central Region, (This includes all the NWS offices that issue warnings in Iowa). This is set to begin on April 1st at most offices and July 1st in the rest of the Central Region.Informational Video
