Forecast for Sunday and Monday
The heat should spread across the state Sunday and Monday. The eastern part of the state will be cooler on Sunday but the heat will make it eastward by Monday. Heat indices could easily be over 100 in many places so take it easy and drink plenty of water and take plenty of breaks.
River Flooding Update #5
Only the Des Moines river at Ottumwa remains above flood stage today. The river is in minor flood and is expected to fall below flood stage on Saturday. Other rivers that were flooding are still very close to bankfull but are falling.
