For the second day in a row, Mason City has set a new record high temperature. The temperature hit 99°, which broke the old record of 95° set back in 1987. Yesterday, Mason City climbed to 98° breaking the old record of 97° that had been set in 1933.

New Record highs were set today across the state. At Mason City the temperature hit 97°. The old record was 92° set in 1931 and 1914. Waterloo tied their record of 93° which was also set in 1934.
