Counties Dropped from watch
Only a few minutes after posting the watch (which had been issued several hours earlier) a few counties have been dropped from the watch that is in effect until 6pm, Clay, Dickinson, O’Brien and Osceola. The rest of the watch continues although the thunderstorms are starting to move out of the watch boundaries further south.

There is a slight risk for Severe Weather for areas north of a line from Guttenberg (along the Mississippi River) to Hamburg (in extreme SW Iowa near the Missouri border and River). Late Evening Update
Aside from a few showers or sprinkles in eastern Iowa, the state is relatively dry again. A few storms may fire north of the state and could drift in toward morning, otherwise it should remain clear to partly cloudy with the activity in eastern Iowa moving off to the east and dissipating.
