Temperatures have warmed quickly across the eastern 3/4ths of the state ahead of a cold front. Readings have touched 80 at Lamoni with a heat index of 81. Dewpoints are nearing 60 across southern Iowa as well, adding fuel for possible thunderstorm development if the cap does begin to weaken.
