Storms are expected to start discretely this afternoon with all modes possible, including damaging winds to 70 MPH and strong tornadoes. Enhanced Risk of Severe Weather Tomorrow

An enhanced risk of severe weather is currently in place for Tuesday afternoon and evening across southwest Iowa, primarily south of Highway 3 and west of Interstate 380/Highway 218. Large hail, damaging winds, and perhaps a tornado-or-two are the threats initially before the system grows upscale into a mesoscale convective system later in the overnight. Flash flooding is also a large concern.
