Heat Advisory through 8:00 PM Tonight for Southern Iowa

Hot and humid conditions are expected once again across southern Iowa as temperatures reach the low-to-mid 90s with dew points nearing 80°. This will result in heat index values of nearly 105°, resulting in oppressive conditions across the area. Use caution if you’re doing anything outside today, and make sure to drink plenty of water.

Three EF-0 Tornadoes Confirmed across North Central Iowa Wednesday

The National Weather Service in Des Moines confirmed that three tornadoes touched down across north central Iowa on Wednesday afternoon. Updated: EF-0, EF-1 Tornadoes Confirmed in East Central Iowa Saturday

Updated information from the NWS in the Quad Cities shows that two tornadoes touched down in eastern Iowa on Saturday. The first moved across the southwest portion of Lake Delhi with tree damage the predominant report. This tornado has an estimated peak winds of about 90 MPH, making it an EF-1. The second affected north of the Worthington area – only about 10 miles away from Delhi. This storm is estimated to have had 70 MPH winds with it, making it a EF-0.
