The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective until Midnight for Des Moines, Henry, Jefferson, Lee and Van Buren Counties. Thunderstorms along the Iowa Missouri border that are currently severe will continue to move through the far southeastern counties of the state. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main threats from the storms. More development is possible later this evening, but the severe weather threat should be east of the state by 10pm or so.
