HOT FRIDAY: Temperatures today will be soaring to and above 90° across the state. With dewpoints in the 60s to lower 70s, some heat indices may approach or top 100° in some locations. It will be breezy and sunny as well, so suntan will be a must.

STORMY SATURDAY: The Storm Prediction Center has a slight risk of severe weather for Saturday and Saturday night across the southern counties of the state. A more enhanced chance will be east of the state, however large hail and damaging winds will be possible with any storms south of Interstate 80.

HEAT BUBBLE: A ridge will be setting up just south of the state early next week putting the state on the northern edge of some very hot weather. It will also be a ring of fire with several chances of showers and thunderstorms, although the main storm track will be to the north of the state. The ridge will break down by late next week with a widespread chance of storms by Thursday and Friday of next week.

MO RIVER FLOODING: The ongoing flooding of the Missouri River continues. This will be a long duration event, lasting through this month and possibly well into the month of July, if normal precipitation patterns persist.
