STORMY SKIES: Most of today will be quiet with departing showers and thunderstorms out of the state by the morning hours. The next chance of precipitation will move back in Sunday afternoon and evening with another large storm system that will be sticking around for a few days with several rounds of showers and thunderstorms. Not everyone will see rain every day nor will it be an all day rain (except possibly Monday across the northern counties). There could be severe weather with this system Tuesday and Wednesday as the cold front swings into the state from the west.

COOL CONDITIONS?:As the storm that will be moving through the state departs late next week, it will be digging out a huge trough over the eastern half of the country which will lead to some cool temperatures across the area next weekend and into the beginning of the following week. This model run shows it breaking down about 10 days or so out, only to be replaced by another trough moving in from the west which could bring another bout of showers, thunderstorms and possible severe weather to the state at that time.
