2011 Mississippi River Flooding Update #3

Mississippi River Forecast

Here is the latest flood forecast for the Mississippi River. Some of the locations in the northeastern sections of the state (and Lynxville WI) have come down on their crests by an inch or two, but from Dubuque downstream, the crests have been inched upward from a few inches to over a foot, with possibly higher crests possible (as river forecasts only go out a week). From Bellevue southward, the crest will take place later than the said time on the chart. Additional crests are possible as well given any rainfall over the next few weeks. The river is likely to remain above flood stage for the rest of this month well into May.
