STORMY SUNDAY: Aside from the precipitation that fell last into this morning across the state, the next chance of precipitation rolls in again on Sunday into Monday with a strong system. There is likely to be severe weather to the south of the state from Missouri into Oklahoma. The Day 3 Severe Weather Outlook wasn’t issued as of this post, but the liklihood is there for some on Sunday into Sunday night. Across Iowa, showers and thunderstorms will be possible with amounts in the one half to three quarters of an inch.

NEXT WEEK: The next storm after this one will come near the end of next week Friday into Saturday with another chance of showers and thunderstorms along with possible severe weather with that one. Otherwise the rest of next week looks cool to start with gradual warming as the week progresses.

FLOODING: River flooding continues across the Big Sioux, Des Moines and Mississippi Rivers. Flooding along the Mississippi River will continue for at least 1-2 more weeks with crests occuring this weekend into early next week with rivers remaining steady or slowing falling afterward. However this doesn’t take into consideration any heavy rainfall that may occur Sunday into Monday and the storm system the following week which may prolong any flooding issues.
