NEARLY DRY: Dry weather continued over the state on Monday sans for a few snow showers across the western and southwestern counties of the state. The eastern 2/3rds of the state were saved by the persistent easterly wind and low dewpoints that were in the teens and even single digits in some locations. The east wind will continue today and Wednesday shunting the precipitation to the west and south of the state.

THURS/FRI: The next chance of precipitation, even as slight as it might be comes Thursday into Friday with a chance of some rain/snow mix across the state. Amounts will generally be light with up to a tenth of an inch of liquid precip and possibly a dusting to a half inch of snow on grassy areas, but nothing more than that.

APRIL STORMS: Friday marks the first day of April, and by Sunday the first big storm and likely best chance of any precipitation will be on the way. Warmer air will be flooding the state following the Thursday/Friday storm with temperatures jumping back to and possibly above average. Some showers and isolated thunderstorms will be possible late Sunday as the storm moves through. This will continue into Sunday night with the cold front exiting the state early Monday morning. Colder air will filter in Monday with some rain, or rain/snow mix possible Monday.

FLOODING: River flooding continues across the northern counties of the state and along the Mississippi River. This will continue especially along the MS River for several more weeks. See the latest update for area rivers that remain under river flood warnings.
