DRY WEEK AHEAD: Latest model run shows it should be a relatively dry week with a brush of snow across the far southern counties Tuesday (nothing more than a isolated snow showers or flurries) and some possible rain and or snow Thursday with a weak distrubance. It looks to be the next big precipitation event will hold off until Sunday with some rain and warmer temperatures, although it may end as a rain snow mix a week from today (Monday) as the storm pulls away.

ANGRY APRIL: Although April begins on Friday, it looks like the beginning of the month will look rather active across the state and the upper midwest. Besides the storm in question Sunday into next Monday, out in voo-doo (past 7 days out), we could see some nasty conditions again April 8th and again on the 11th, with possible severe weather. Remember, model runs are wild past the 5-7 day time period, so this could change once again on the next few runs, but we’ll keep an eye on it.

FLOODING: Flooding continues across the northern counties of the state and the Mississippi River. There remains flood warnings along the Big Sioux and Little Sioux Rivers in NW Iowa. The West Fork of the Des Moines River from the IA/MN border down to Humboldt, the Cedar River near Waterloo/Cedar Falls and the Mississippi River downstream to Burlington. These rivers will remain in flood for quite sometime, however with the dry conditions upcoming this week, that will help allievate any more concerns of any higher crests.
