Colder Air Coming Back

Cold air is moving back into the state late this afternoon behind a cold front that has cleared the state. The northwestern sections of the state were in the upper 20s to around 30, while southeast Iowa was in the upper 50s to around 60. There has been showers and isolated thunderstorms this afternoon across the southeastern half of the state. The precipitation is moving to the east, however it may briefly change to some snow or a mix before ending. Accumulations will remain light, generally under a half inch. It will remain quiet through the rest of the weekend with the next storm moving in by Tuesday morning.
