HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW WILL COMBINE WITH STRONG WINDS AND COLD TEMPERATURES TO BRING LIFE THREATENING BLIZZARD CONDITIONS TO THE ENTIRE AREA LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. VISIBILITY WILL FREQUENTLY BE NEAR ZERO IN OPEN AREAS…WHILE HEAVY SNOW AMOUNTS BURY ROADS. DEEP DRIFTS ARE LIKELY OVER EAST TO WEST ROADS. SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR WILL BRING NEW SNOW TOTALS IN MANY LOCATIONS TO THE 5 TO 10 INCH RANGE BY 6 PM ALONG AND SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80…WITH SOMEWHAT LESSER AMOUNTS FARTHER NORTH. HEAVY SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE NIGHT…WITH EXCEPTIONAL SNOW TOTALS APPROACHING OR EXCEEDING LOCAL RECORDS.
