The latest forecasts from both the GFS and the NAM have been showing snowfall forecasts similiar to what you see above. The heaviest snows will be falling across the southern and southeastern counties of the state mainly on Tuesday and Wednesday. The snow that will fall on Monday will be from a seperate snow storm that will be effecting the northern counties of the state with the heaviest snow. As that storm moves off, the next storm will be moving right in from the southwest bringing gulf moisture in along with gusty winds to blow the snow around. AS the snow ends Wednesday, colder air will rush in which will lead to some dangerous wind chills reaching -20° to -30°. More on this storm in coming posts.
