Watches and Advisories Issued

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from Noon on Sunday until 6pm Monday evening for the following counties, Lyon, Sioux, Plymouth and Woodbury. Another Winter Weather Advisory is also in effect from 6pm Sunday evening until Midnight Tuesday morning for the following counties, Osceola, Dickinson, O’Brien, Clay, Cherokee, Buena Vista and Ida. Another Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect at 6pm Sunday evening and will last until 6am Tuesday morning for the following counties, Monona, Harrison, Shelby, Pottawattamie, Mills, Montgomery, Fremont and Page.

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect from late Sunday night through late Monday night for the following counties, Palo Alto, Pocahontas, Sac, Calhoun, Crawford, Carroll, Greene, Audubon, Guthrie, Dallas, Cass, Adair, Madions, Adams, Union, Clarke, Taylor, Ringgold and Decatur.

This will likely be a long duration event, however snowfall rates will remain light during the duration. Snowfall amounts by Tuesday morning will range anywhere between 5-10″ in the Advisory and Watch areas. More Watches, warnings and or advisories are likely to be issued in the next 24-36 hours. Travel will be impacted by this storm beginning late Sunday and lasting through at least Tuesday morning.
