First Look at Mid-Week Snowstorm

NAM Model Forecast Snowfall

Here is a first look at the possible amount of snow that is expected Wednesday into Thursday across the state. The heaviest snow is likely going to be over the northeastern half of the state, with a swath of 4-6″ possible. Although the amounts on the image might be a bit high (but this model was very close with the last storm having over a foot of snow over southern Minnesota into Wisconsin), at least 2-5″ will be possible across the NE 1/3rd of the state with the SW 1/2 receiving less than an inch or a dusting. Any changes could lead to the heaviest snow moving out of the state or more snow falling. The good thing about this storm in comparison to the last one will be the lack of strong gusty winds, so blizzard conditions are not likely.
