Blizzard Watch for Northern Iowa

Current Watches, Warnings and Advisories as of 10:30am

The National Weather Service upgraded the Winter Storm Watch to a Blizzard Watch this morning for all of the lime colored counties on the image in northern Iowa. This includes Osecola, Dickinson, Emmet, Kossuth, Winnebago, Worth, O’Brien, Clay, Palo Alto, Hancock, Cerro Gordo, Cherokee, Buena Vista, Pocahontas, Humboldt, Wright, Franklin, Butler and Bremer.

These areas will experience snowfall amounts anywhere between 2-6″ with the heaviest totals near the Iowa Minnesota border. Along with the snow, strong NW winds of over 30mph, may create blizzard conditions on the roads through Sunday morning. This will likely be upgraded to a Blizzard Warning later tonight.
