Warm Up Before The Storm

Temperatures will begin warming tomorrow through Friday before the weekend snow storm approaches from the west. Tomorrow will be no different than today, maybe a few degrees warmer with highs in the 20s to the lower 30s in non-snowpack areas. Thursday a swath of light snow or a mix will be possible across the state. Highs will be in the 30s to around 40 in non-snowpack areas (where the precip may be a mix changing to light rain), whereas temps will be hovering around the freezing mark in the snowpack areas (where the precip will be snow or maybe a mix). Friday will see similiar temperatures to Thursday but without the precipitation.

It will all lead up to the big weekend storm. The latest shows the heaviest snow will now be in a swath across the southern sections (a far cry from yesterday). This is why most meteorologists don’t give you the swaths this early in the game because of the wild swings the models can take storms such as the weekend one. The amounts are about the same however, with the heaviest band being over 6″. Stay tuned for more on this upcoming storm.
