Winter Storm Warnings for NE Iowa

Warnings and Advisories plus Forecasted Snowfall
The National Weather Service in LaCrosse has issued a Winter Storm Warning effective this afternoon until Saturday afternoon for the following counties, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell, Allamakee, Winneshiek, Fayette, Chickasaw and Clayton. There is also a Winter Weather Advisory now in effect from Friday afternoon until Saturday afternoon for the following counties, Kossuth, Winnebago, Worth, Hancock, Cerro Gordo, Franklin, Butler, Bremer, Black Hawk, Buchanan, Delaware, Dubuque, Benton, Linn, Jones, Jackson, Clinton, Iowa, Johnson, Cedar, Scott and Muscatine.

The heaviest snow is expected to fall 50 miles either side of a Cresco to Elkader line. The amounts will generally be 5-7 inches in those areas, with 3-5 on either side of that, with amounts diminshing quickly as you move to the SW. Travel will likely become impacted later today into tonight across the northern and eastern sections of the state. Make sure you keep up to date on the latest road conditions.
