After a round of dissipating thunderstorms moved across the central and eastern sections of the state, another round has developed close to the cold front that is racing through the state this afternoon. The line is currently located from Pocahontas to Ogden to Osecola to Lamoni, they are moving to the east at 25-30mph. Brief heavy rain along with some gusty winds will be possible with the storms over the next few hours as they move through the state. The precipitation will change over to a rain snow mix later tonight with the NW sections receiving all snow. Accumulations in far NW Iowa may reach 2-4 inches, with lighter amounts the farther SE you get. All precipitation should end Tuesday as light snow showers or flurries with little or no accumulation possible. Cooler weather will also prevail for the rest of the week with highs mainly in the 30s to around 40 and lows in the upper teens to the 20s.
