Roads that are mostly covered with ice or sleet are as follows,
US Hwy 20 from US 169 to US 65, IA Hwy 3 from US 71 to west of Shell Rock, US Hwy 65 from near Zearing to Mason City, US Hwy 69 from near Jewell to US Hwy 20, US 169 from south of IA 175 to Algona.
Roads that are partly covered with ice or sleet include, US Hwy 30 from LeGrand to Cedar Rapids, US Hwy 18 from Algona westward to SD Border, IA 60 between IA 3 and US Hwy 18, IA Hwy 4 from IA 3 north of MN Border.
The rest of the “MAIN” roads are either wet or normal, but there could be icy patches on even the normal or wet roads, also on the bridges and overpasses. There has already been numerous accidents with injuries today.
UPDATE: US 151 from US Hwy 30 to Cascade is mostly covered in ice due to a thunderstorm with freezing rain moving through. US Hwy 63 from Waterloo to New Hampton and US 218 from Waterloo to Charles City and US Hwy 18 from New Hampton to Mason City is completely covered in ice.
