A High Wind Watch has been issued for the northern half of the state for Tuesday morning through Wednesday evening (especially the eastern and northeastern counties). A Strong storm system will move into the state later Monday night into Tuesday bringing another chance of showers and thunderstorms. Along with the rainfall, on the back side of the storm, strong northwesterly winds will kick in. In the watch area, sustained winds of 30-40mph will be possible with gusts exceeding 50mph in many locations. Outside of the watch area, sustained winds will be not be as strong, but gusts to 40mph could be possible over the southern sections of the state.
