The Storm Prediction Center has issued a TORNADO watch effective until 8pm this evening for the following counties, Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola, Plymouth, Sioux, Cerro Gordo, Emmet, Hancock, Humboldt, Kossuth, Palo Alto, Pocahontas, Winnebago and Worth. Thunderstorms will move into the northwestern parts of the state through the late afternoon through the evening hours. The main threats along with tornadoes will be from large hail and damaging wind gusts. More watches are likely to follow throughout the rest of this afternoon into this evening.
