Another Hot Humid Day

After a round of showers and thunderstorms overnight into the morning hours, skies have cleared this afternoon and temperatures have risen accordingly. Readings have risen into the 90s across the southwestern half of the state, with dewpoints ranging in the 70s. An inflated Heat Index of 122 was reported at Creston with a dewpoint reading of 86° which I believe to be an error.

Another round of showers and thunderstorms are forecast for later this afternoon into tonight. Severe Weather is possible once more, with a slight risk encompassing a large portion of the state. Damaging winds looks to be the main threat from any of the storms, along with the threat of more heavy rain. Numerous rivers are under river flood warnings once more from the heavy rain that fell across a good deal of the state last night and this morning.

This pattern will continue for the next couple of days, with repeated rounds of showers and thunderstorms bringing not only the chance of severe weather but also heavy flooding rains.
