The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective until 5am Monday morning for the following counties, Adams, Clarke, Lucas, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Monroe, Union, Wapello, Warren, Allamakee, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell, Winneshiek, Benton, Buchanan, Cedar, Clinton, Delaware, Des Moines, Dubuque, Henry, Iowa, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Jones, Keokuk, Linn, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott and Washington.

A large complex of showers and thunderstorms is currently moving through the central sections of the state this evening. (See Radar a few posts down) These storms will be have the capability of producing some large hail but mainly straightline wind gusts over 60mph at times. There is also a chance of heavy rain with these storms as well. Some flash flood warnings have been issued in central and northern Iowa earlier.
