Some of the hottest weather of the year is expected Sunday into Monday, with temperatures approaching 100° in western Iowa with heat indices well over 110° in some locations. Excessive Heat Watches have been issued in western Iowa for Sunday and Monday. Along with the intense heat, there is also a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could be severe especially on Sunday across parts of Iowa. There will be chances of rain throughout next week, but not everyday and not everywhere. The hot and humid weather will continue into next week as well.
