A Flash Flood watch has been issued beginning at 7pm this evening and lasting until Noon on Thursday for the following counties, Adair, Audubon, Black Hawk, Boone, Calhoun, Carroll, Cass, Crawford, Dallas, Greene, Grundy, Guthrie, Hamilton, Hardin, Jasper, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Marshall, Polk, Poweshiek, Sac, Story, Tama, Warren and Webster. Many of these locations have already received between 2-5 inches of rain over the last few days and another 1-3 inches is possible tonight into tomorrow morning. This will likely lead to rapid rises in area creeks and streams and may lead to flash flooding where thunderstorms train over the same area for an extended period of time. Remember if you come upon a flooded roadway, turn around don’t drown!
