The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective until 3am Saturday morning. This watch includes the following counties, Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette, Benton, Buchanan, Delaware, Dubuque, Jackson, Jones and Linn.

Thunderstorms, many of which are rotating have been moving over the southern portions of Minnesota this evening. They are moving to the southeast and will likely move into the state by around 9pm. Expect strong straight line winds and large hail to be the main threats from this activity as it sweeps southeastward through the northern and northeastern portions of the state overnight.
