The Storm Prediction Center has issued a TORNADO Watch in effect until 10pm for the following counties, Adair, Adams, Appanoose, Audubon, Black Hawk, Boone, Calhoun, Carroll, Cass, Clarke, Crawford, Dallas, Davis, Decatur, Greene, Grundy, Guthrie, Hamilton, Hardin, Jasper, Lucas, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Marshall, Monroe, Polk, Poweshiek, Ringgold, Sac, Story, Tama, Taylor, Union, Wapello, Warren, Wayne, Webster, Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Montgomery, Page, Pottawattamie and Shelby.

Storms are expected to redevelop across the western part of the state (possibly off the storms currently north of Fort Dodge to south of Mason City) and begin moving to the east. Besides the threat of tornadoes, large hail and damaging if not destructive wind gusts above 70mph may be possible as these storms move through.
