Iowa Corn Indy 250 (Race Weekend) Forecast

Race Weekend Forecast for Iowa Speedway in Newton

Here above is the forecast for the Indy Car Series (along with Indy Lights and USF2000 and Star Mazda) at Iowa Speedway this weekend.
As was mentioned earlier, there is a slight risk of severe weather for the area around the Speedway on Friday. The storms will likely not take place until after all the tests have been completed in the early afternoon. Saturday looks great with no issues for Indy Lights, USF2000, Star Mazda and the Indy Car Series Qualifying. It will be warm and sunny. Late Saturday night the weather goes downhill again as another complex of thunderstorms is forecast to cross the state from west to east most likely washing all the rubber that will be laid on the track from Saturday’s track activity. Sunday is a question mark. There is a slight risk of severe weather again for the area around the racetrack. There could be ongoing thunderstorms in the morning, but at racetime (1:30 CDT), there maybe a window to get the race in before afternoon thunderstorms refire across the state. There is a chance also that it may rain at racetime as well, however slight.
