Storms to Return

Today is the day to be outside, humidities are low, temperatures are in the upper 70s and lower 80s and it’s sunny and DRY! However, there will not be a second day in a row of dry weather as another storm system is set to move back into the state for Thursday. Chances of showers and thunderstorms will return by afternoon into the evening hours in the western half of the state. A good bit of the state is under a slight risk for severe weather for Thursday with a swath of the state (mainly in the eastern and central sections) under a slight risk again on Friday.

Large Hail, damaging winds and even a tornado or two will be possible with thunderstorms that develop on Thursday across the western part of the state, with hail and wind threats on Friday. Along with the severe weather, heavy rain is also possible which could lead to the onset of more flash flooding, especially in areas that have receieved copious amounts of rain over the last two weeks. Flash Flood Watches may need to be issued later tonight or tomorrow across portions of the state.

There will be continued chances of showers and thunderstorms each day through early next week, but not everyone will see rain every day, nor will it be an all day rain. But heavy rain will be possible each day with any thunderstorm that does develop and move through.
