At mid-afternoon, a few locations in SE Iowa were seeing heat indices at over just over 100°. With actual readings in the 80s and dewpoints in the low 70s. A few more places may see heat indices approach or go past 100 before slowly settling back down. Make sure you take it slow, stay hydrated and take frequent breaks if you plan on being outside anytime this afternoon.
