A Flash Flood Watch will go into effect tonight at 1am and will continue until 1pm Tuesday afternoon for the following counties, Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Monona, Montgomery, Page, Pottawattamie, Shelby, Adair, Adams, Appanoose, Audubon, Cass, Clarke, Dallas, Davis, Decatur, Guthrie, Jasper, Lucas, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Monroe, Polk, Poweshiek, Ringgold, Taylor, Union, Wapello, Warren, Wayne, Cedar, Des Moines, Henry, Iowa, Jefferson, Johnson, Keokuk, Lee, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren and Washington.

More heavy rain is possible late tonight into tomorrow over the southern half of the state. Areas have already received upwards of over 4-5 inches of rain over the last few days and another 2-4 inches is possible with storms later tonight into tomorrow. This may cause rapid rises in creeks and streams and cause flash flooding. Rainfall rates may approach or exceed 2 inches per hour in some locales with the storms as well.
