The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm watch which is in effect until 11pm for the following counties, Des Moines, Henry, Jefferson, Lee, Van Buren, Appanoose, Clarke, Davis, Decatur, Lucas, Monroe, Ringgold, Taylor, Union, Wapello, Wayne, Fremont and Page. Storms are beginning to fire along the Iowa Missouri border especially in SE Iowa. These storms will move along the southern tier of counties as they move to the east. The main threats will be large hail and damaging winds.
