The latest severe weather outlook shows a moderate risk of severe weather over the western third of the state into eastern Nebraska. This is where there is a heightened risk of seeing tornadoes in the state today. The rest of the state is under a slight risk of severe weather where large hail and damaging winds will be possible along with an isolated tornado. There is a batch of storms moving into NW Iowa early this afternoon, these will continue moving to the east and slightly south of east this afternoon. New development should occur by the mid to late afternoon hours, with the best chances of seeing supercells and tornadoes being before sunset this evening.
