A 30 or so mile wide band of scattered showers and thunderstorms were moving across the state this evening. The line is from around Mason City to Clarinda and moving east around 30-35mph. Some brief heavy rain will be possible with these storms as they move through, but amounts will mainly stay under a half inch in many locations. Some small hail is possible and winds may gust to 40mph, but severe weather is not expected with these storms.
